Hunting arrow shaft.....Easton Axis or Gold Tip???
I am interested in ordering new carbon arrow shafts for my new Hoyt Trykon XL. I used to shoot the Easton Axis, but I thought about going to Gold Tips. I will mainly use them for hunting........thanks for the suggestions.

I've used both shaft's including the 3D pro Gold tip's ,they're both great shaft's ,but since I've bought the Axis shaft's ,I'm sticking with the Axis's ,I just find the penetration is amazing with the thin shaft's . I'm not knocking Gold Tip's because I like them as well ,I just prefer the Axis's.

My opinion for what its worth(probably not much), if I were thinking of buying Axis arrows I would seriously consider the Beman Black Max or Beman Max-4. Basically same arrow but the Beman is advertised as .003 straightness. Same price and perhaps a hair cheaper too. Now whether the Beman is actually straighter and more consistent than the Easton Axis remains to be seen. I shoot both and have found my Beman Black Max seems to be more consistent, while I found a flyer or two in my Axis.

I used to not like the axis , but found that with a slightly diferant setup they are very consistant , better than any other carbon Ive tryed , I dont yet know if I will "shoot the spine out" of them like my carbon express terminators .
I have some experiance with bemans as the guys I hunt with in Pa shoot them exclusively , and far too many of them break for my likeing . I would not mind hearing from some members about the durability of the axis shafts .
Easton touts them as allmost "indistructable".
I should not that I had an acc break on an animal myself this year to my surprise .

I have shot arrows directly into rocks at 25 yards (squirrel hunting off a stone wall) with seemingly no ill effects. The only two shafts I was able to damage one was by shooting one crosswise with another arrow and then accidentally shooting one into the top of a rocking chair 2 feet in front of me That arrow exploded.
