Ever get a good feeling after someone.....
you sold or gave a bow to, tells you how much they like it and how well they are doing with it? I recently sold my hunting bow on Ebay to help pay for the cost of a new bow. My Martin Cougar Magnum had seen 5 hunting seasons, and the normal wear of carrying a bow through brush was showing, although I took good care of the bow. I gave an honest description and took 5 pictures(4 close up of the worn grip area and few scratches).
Anyway, I received an email this morning from the guy who bought it. It turns out he is or was a young Marine and has only bowhunted one season. He joined an indoor league and described his woes using his old bow. He further told me after just getting a new peep, kisser button along with a QAD Ultrarest on the bow, he only had 15 minutes to get his sight adjusted for the indoor animal round. He then said at the end of the shoot, he went from being the worst shooter in the league(scorewise) to eighth out of 36 that first night shooting my old Martin and beat several archers shooting new $700 bows. In his email he is estatic and very pleased............and so am I. I replied that the archer behind the bow is most important but glad the bow seemed to help. I also told him that after more tuning and getting accustomed to the bow he can only get even better. Anyway, this is longwinded but his email sure made my day!!!!!!!!!! Hope he joins HNI...seems to be good guy.

RE: Ever get a good feeling after someone.....
I had that "good feeling" for about six months a couple years ago. I gave a guy at work my old Martin Firecat to get him started in archery and bowhunting. He loved it!! The bow fit him perfect. He was shooting groups his first day shooting and was excited to try his hand at bowhunting. By the time bowhunting season rolled around I guess he lost his excitement because the bow has been collecting dust ever since.I miss that bow! I've thought about telling him that if he's not going to put it to good use to give it back to me and I'll find someone who will.

Being a south paw I surf the bow site on ebay and have made some great deals, as long as you know what your looking for and the item is thruthfully described, in which case it seems you did a good job and made a good friend on the way.

Well done Cougar!!!!!! It sure does feel good. I insisted to a buddy who hasn't shot a deer with a bow in like 15 years to sit my best treestand knowing the deer would be there and sure enough he shot a deer. I was so happy for him, it felt good as well!

Awesome, Greg!
As someone who works professionally in outside sales, I can vouch for the fact you feel a whole lot better when you've provided your customer a "solution" as opposed to having just sold them a product.
Glad you got to enjoy that feeling.

Definately sounds like you made a friend.
It is kinda strange, but it is almost like a part of you sticks with that bow when you sell it.
Kind of a cool feeling to have a bow someone else shot and got so much pleasure out of it and now the new owner is getting the same feeling you once did with that very same bow.
Either way, glad to hear someone else is enjoying archery.
It sure is a great sport.
