My better half wants a bow......but there's a catch!!
My wife was watching me shoot yesterday and said it looks like fun. She has ZERO interest in hunting and is actually against it but allows me to enjoy it anyway. I have a diamond victory bow set at 60lbs. She cannot even begin to pull it back.
Here's the catch, she wants me to sell my T/C Encore to buy her a bow!
My questions are.......
(1) What would you do? (Just buy her a bow anyway and keep the Encore or Unload the Encore and buy her a bow?)
(2) What is a decent compound bow for a woman?

Keep the Gun... If she wants one then it's in addition to what I already have... No way I am getting rid of ANY of my hunting equipment so she can have a bow... Womens bow probably not that expensive, just save a few extra dollars and keep the gun....

Selling a good gun to buy a bow is like dumping a good wife to date a prostitute! Don't do it!
Keep the Encore and just buy her a bow. Make her sell some of her shoes and purses if you need some extra money to buy the bow. If she's anything like my wife, you could fund the national debt by selling off a few tons of leather goods outta the closet. [8D]

that sounds great about her wanting a bow. been working on mine for years. i keep hearing 'i don't have time'. however the recently crested arrows are getting to her. they match some of her shoes.

I want to make it as fun for her as I can so she'll stick with it. We have a son, only 10 months old right now, but I'd like it to become a family thing later on.
I will find some arrows and make them all girly with pink cresting and fletching.
I just need to find a good "starter" bow that will last a few years yet be good enough to shoot well.

IF YOU SELL THE GUN IN ORDER TO GET YOUR WIFE A BOW ,THEN YOU'LL ONLY HAVE TO REPLACE IT LATER WITH AN BETTER AND MORE EXPENSIVE MODEL .BUTI AGREE WITH THE OTHER'S DON'T SELL YOUR GUN ,JUST PUT A FEW BUCK'S ASIDE AND GET HER A NEW BOW.
