Update for IL hunters, others may be interested as well. . .
As some of you might know, I posted a message on the boards last evening about the price I paid for a Summit Viper X5 Climber at Gander Mountain here in Joliet.
Personally, I know the Joliet store is sold out because I bought the last one last night. Sorry guys, but I couldn't pass it up. It is my first treestand so I am pretty excited. I also know that the Peoria andGenevastoresare sold out because I just called there.
It looks like Rockford is the only store with them left. I called there and the Viper X5's are going for $143.99 at that location as well. So if you are in the area or don't mind the drive, you can get a great deal on a really nice climber.
If I lived closer I would probably go and buy another one. But Rockford is quite a drive for myself. Either way, I just thought I would share the information with others.
Even if you aren't from IL, I would check the Gander Mountain stores near your location. All of the stores in IL were carrying these climbers for $143.99 before they sold out. It might be the same for other states.
Go towww.gandermountain.com and click on store locator if you don't know where the closet store is. I don't know the prices on any climbers outside of IL, but it is worth a shot.

Has anyone outside of IL tried their local Gander Mountain and found any success with the great price on the Viper X5 Climber by Summit? Just curious.
I'm hoping someone might score on a great sale price like I did.

i also go to the one in terre haute, in. but it has been a month or so since i went but hope to go some time soon, i have $200bucks to spend in gift certificats(sp) that i got fer chirstmas, but i bough one of the climbers from wally world for 56.00 but i may buy one if they have them that cheap
ps. i went to wally-world today and was disapointed, because they are on sale today fer 44.00 bucks,, if would have only waited three more day or so i could have gotten it cheaper, thought about takin it back gettin 56.00bucks back and buyin another one or getting a summit at gander mnt. but i already used it so i dont know if they would take it back.
p.s.s. my dad got a good deal on one of the razors but summit, paid only 70.00bucks for it

PSE, talk to customer service. A lot of times they'll do a price match if it's within 30 days of when you bought it. I did that last year. They see it as saving restocking time because you could take it back and get the cheaper one. As long as you have your receipt you should be gold.
