I hunt in Lake and McHenry counties in the very northern parts of both counties. I've scored on some nice bucks in those areas, anywhere from 125 to 143. I've seen much bigger ones, but not within shooting range. Next year I'm holding out for a 150's or bigger. They are there. Do you hunt in the northern part of the county ( Lake ) like I do? There are definately some cons that go along with the pros of hunting in that area.

I just checked behind the ~25 trees in my yard and there wasn't a buck behind a single one of them. [&o]

And because I love to horn-in on Justin's threads.. Here's a couple of pictures of the buck I was chasing last year and the year before.

I don't have access to that property anymore... but I enjoyed chasing him while I did. (I'm not going to admit that I did have a 'gimmee' 10 yard shot at him last year and completely whiffed the shot [])

Year to year photos of Frank. (I wonder what he looked like this year?)

That first buck Justin showed is a monster for sure. Talk about high and wide. Christine your buck would look great on the wall too.To bad you can't hunt there anymore. Maybe with everything calmming down Justin you can cut that buck off. Good luck.
