Default Shrewd Grip

My brother's giving me a shrewd precision grip for my bow as a Christmas present.

How do you guys that use them (Or you guys that shoot off the riser) handle the clod of the metal? Gloves? Or...do you wrap it with tennis racket grip or something similar.

Sorry if this has been asked before.

Jeff

Do you mean in cold weather, for whitetail hunting from a stand? If so, you may want to consider not holding the bow by the handle. Or take a look at a leg bow holder for sitting or standing holder. I never wear gloves when hunting and am OK down to about 0 degrees. What I do use is a hand warmer inside a pocket which works very well. I also have a hand warming muff that goes around my waist if it is really cold (I also though in a hand warmer). I wear gloves to and from my stand.

But the shrewd grip is made from metal for a reason, it is very slick even with sweating hands. This is good as it should put your hand in the same place every time. I would not suggest wrapping it with anything.

bobco...

Yes. I meant "COLD"...lol.

My hands stay plenty warm in the stand (I use the same things you do). I was just wondering.....because I put the bow in my hand.....in the ready position.....whenver I hear game approaching. Sometimes....it's in my hands for SEVERAL minutes.....and it's COLD...lol. I guess I can start looking for a nice, warm grip hand glove, huh?

I appreciateyour advice about NOT wrapping it.

Could you post a pic of the grip? I've never seen one and am curious.

Thanks. I'm not sure if I like that or not. I'd have to see one in person.

SB,

I'd have him take a serious look at the HCG grips made by "Tronjo" over on AT... he makes them out of wood, and they're absolutely beautiful. $45 shipped to your door. I just ordered one... had him make it thin and rounded in the back like a BowTech grip. He'll make it how you want it, in just about any color you want.

I couldn't imagine holding metal when I was hunting.
