Default For you Bowtech guys.

I need your help. As many know I have been on this forum for a while, much longer than 2003. I have always been a die hard Mathews guy. Well, recently a budy of mine bought an 2005 Alliegence and he loves it. He works as a biologist, but he also helps out at a shop in his area just to keep up with all the new goodies. He e-mailed recently urging me to go shoot a Tribute. I stopped by my local shop today that has always taken good care of me, with the intent of shooting one, only to find out they no longer carry Bowtech, just Mathews and PSE. The owner, who I consider a friend, tried to get me to shoot the Switchback XT because he thinks very highly of it. I chose not to because I am not going to change bows until our season is over in Jan. I really have the urge to try something new and I really wanted to shoot the Bowtech. My dilema is this; is the Tribute really so nice of a bow that I should go to a different shop, farther away, and shoot one? Or should I stick with Mathews and go shoot the XT and trade in my LX? Should I consider switching to the dark side or be happy not knowing what I am missing?

My advice don't shoot it. Unless you are prepared to buy, once you shoot a bowtec you'll never switchback!

What do you expect us BowTech fans to say!!! Heck YA. I say go shoot it. I would drive 2 hours each way if I had to, to go shoot that bow. Just make sure they have it in stock first. This bow issomething your going to have for years. Worth your time? Yes.

First I would go back to your local dealer andbe straight up with him. Ask him if you can take his best bow in the house and head over to the nearest BowTech dealer so you can shoot both side by side. If he is confident in his products, he will say yes. Shoot both brand bows side by side with the same arrows and same draw weight. Try several models of the BowTechs to get one that fits you best. I'm tall so I bought the Old Glory with a 37 inch ATA. Also make sure to shoot the smooth cams and speed cams through the BowTech. Only takes about 3 minutes to change them out, no press required. 4 screws and a draw stop adjustment.

Your comment about switching to the dark side should be more like switching to the brighter side...who else has the balls to put "In God We Trust" on their products. Great people to talk to and great products. Sometimes I put the great people above the product, but in this case you can have both.

Shoot it and see if you like it, I would also suggest shooting other bows. I have Bowtech, but I just bought a ROSS CR337. I bought the Ross because it fit to what I wanted. It could have been a mathews, hoyt or bowtech I shoot the best bow for me. Not the best company, just my 2 cents.

All of you guys are starting to talk me into going for a drive pretty soon. I had two other hunters tell me the same thing tonight while we were working.

Regardless of brand, why would you not want to shoot a bow that could possibly be your dream bow? If it's not, then you can quit wondering. Justbecause youtest it out does not mean your obligated to purchase. Let us know how it pans out!

Yes, go shoot a Bowtech, they are nice bows.
Then you will know for sure you want the Switchback!

I personally don't care for companies that put their religous sayings on their product. That is their right of course, just turns me off. To me it's no different than a company using a big breasted bimbo to "sell" theirs when the product has nothing to do with bimbos or religion. Now if they were selling Bibles or porn mags it would make sense.
Marketing should focus on the product. Just my opinion YMMV.
