Shot one last night, old warrior ... pics
Shot this guy at 3:10 PM last night at 20 yards when he came running into some Still Steamin estrus scent and a few bleats from my Primos doe in estrus can, he went about 60 yards, I saw him go down which was cool. From the front view he didnt look all the nice but from the sideI saw hehad some good mass with webbing and palmation so I decided to take him. He was a true warrior when I got to see the rack up close, it was all busted up which makes him even cooler IMO.

Nice deer, and congratulations. I took one of these old warriors on Halloween evening. He had a couple busted tines and both his ears were tore in several places too. He had been fighting for awhile, because the breaks were not that fresh. He was a 10 point, and dressed at 180 pounds. If it wasn't for the breaks he would be at the taxidermist right now. Remember my friend, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and you got a dandy.

krojemannits funny you said that about loving the can calls. I have been bow hunting for 20+ years and have only ever used grunt tubes and occassionaly rattled but not very often, I usually let nature takes its course and trust my knowledge of stand placement and pre season scouting pay off for me, but this year I have had more bucks react to the doe bleat during pre rut and the rut than I have ever had using grunt calls. Im a firm beliver in them more than ever now during the right time of course.I saw this guy at around 60 yards and did 1 bleat, when he looked, he circled around me and tried to wind me or whatever made the noise, but all got was the Still Steamin scent I think because he came running right in lol, was pretty cool. He came in so fast that I had to react really fast to put the bleat in my pocket and draw on him, worked out perfect.
