Help me analyze this buck encounter please
Hey all, I need some help. I passed on a nice 6 point last year and I think I saw him all grown up today, a beautiful 8-10 pointer. Well I got in the woods at 12:30, dropped of my portable tree stand on an oak flat with access to by a funnel. As I was putting down my portable, I looked left and saw the buck at 50 yards. I stalked within 35 yards of him, he never saw me, smelled me or heard me because the wind was blowing between 20-30 mph. I couldn't get the angle I wanted and the shot was too long in the wind so I let him pass. When I first saw him, he was checking rubs and from a distance after he left, I saw 2-3 big scrapes. My question is this, do you think this is his normal daily routine or did I just get lucky sighting him today? I only have tomorrow and Saturday morning to hunt him, and then I cant hunt for 10 days because I am flying to Texas. How should I approach tomorrow?

I don't know how far into the rut they are there. But here I'd have to say he's cruisen for chicks. If he finds one you loose,if not you have a good chance for him.My approach would be there before light and sit until he's dead.Good luck
