Default need a new trick for an old buck.

need some serious advise on an old buck iv been hunting here the last couple of weeks.
i have tried everything from doe pee to estrus, vanilla extract, and nothing will bring him in close enouigh for a shot. he jsut seams to know that im there.
though i dont know how. iv tried from tree stand to still hunting.
he seams to bed down out in a palmetto field just off of a small strip of pines.
the other day i cought a glimps of him and he was literally crawling thru the palmettos and saw grass trying to get away from me. i know he is not smelling me as we have been having a north wind and he is moving from north to south. he had to have seen me some how though i do not know how. i have seen him on four occations and he still manages to stay out of bow range, any ideas on how to bring him in for a shot?

doe decoy......... or simulate another buck by getting some rattling antlers. stalk to were u can see him. hide behind a bush, thrash it while grunting and the minute he pics his head up raise the antlers so he can see them. saw it on tv and that buck charged right into the arrow. but be ready if it works and don't jump the gun to quick. sounds like u got a sly fella your trying to bag.good luck bro.

Polkat, very good question. I am quite familiar with the area that you may be hunting down in Arbuckle as my dad lived there till last year. I had the same thing happen to me as I was trying to get this one buck for three yrs. Dang thing beat me and I hunted this buck harder than hard and never got him and I had him within 5yds at times. I would keep moving my stand as to not burn an area out. The rack could of been scored as a typical or a non. Sometimes we would see each other at the same time, so close I could spit on him. He came in one time about 20yrds out with his nose right in my tinks during the rut. Its kinda like hunting a ghost if your hunting a perticular deer. Wish I knew the answer but as long as your in his domain, I figure the law of average is going to catch up. Good luck.
