dittoo on the lone wolf!

that thing is light (17lbs, i believe, but mine is three years old now. I think the newer one is a little better and 18 or 19 pounds) and i set it up in the dark no problem. you really have to make a mistake to make any noise with it when setting it up. It has the bow holder built into it (buy the rubber grommet and padded straps).

I stillhunt with this unit on my back!

The weight limit on treestands, is put on there for insurence reasons. Most climbers that are rates for 250 can probablet hold 400-500 pounds. Any summit is nice. The new gorilla with the black mesh seating is a nice one too!

I have a summit viper extreme that I bought about 6 years ago.. Did they lighten these things up lately or what because mine is heavy as heck to lug through the woods.

Salty,

You probably have one of the old ones made of steel. They make them from aluminum now and the average is about 18-19 lbs now depending on which one you get.

I'm 6'7" and weigh 290 lbs. I own both the Summit Goliath and Equalizer. Both are great stands. The Goliath is a bit more roomy but that equalizer is solid as a rock once you set the straps.

Good luck,
Bmott
