Move Stand???
I'm new and just had a question for a much smarter crowd. I just started hunting this location this yr. and have seen some deer, only one buck. But scouted today and found some small rubs. I have a stand about 100 yards away from these rubs and it seems like there is more activity closer to these rubs then around my stand. Rut should start here in Oklahoma in about 2 weeks. Should I move my stand closer to these rubs, or just leave it undisturbed and hope a buck comes by my stand in search for does?? Any comment will help.

RE: Move Stand???
Well, if it were me, I might put up a different stand at the new spot and leave the one where it is. Especially if the second stand could be set up for a different wind, giving you additional options. If you only have one stand you should try to get one or two more because otherwise you will burn out a location quickly. Even if you don’t spook the deer they will get your lingering scent and start avoiding the area.
Something else to consider; If there are lots of rubs and you’re seeing daytime activity, it may be that you found a bucks bedding area. Putting a stand in there could be productive but highly risky. If you can you get in and out of the area without being detected you may get a shot. Just don’t hunt the stand if the wind isn’t perfect…
Good Luck!
