RE: Nice Kansas Buck
Great job man.
Way to take one for the team.
Cool story too.........nothing like the emotional swing of thinking you missed to watching him fall.........the lowest of the low.........to the highest of highs.
Congrats.

Now THAT is a great buck. It's been too darn hot here in Tejas. What's the temp been up there? Are you in hardwoods just off the hay field? Tell us some more about your setup and why you picked it. Have you hunted it before this year? Any idea on age? 4.5, 5.5? Looks like he had some weight, too. Very nice, MOTOWN.

RE: Nice Kansas Buck
I have been hunting this patch of woods for 12 years. There is a creek that runs the whole length of the property with 3 different fingers of small woods patches. The bucks will travel up and down the creek looking for does during the rut. This paticular stand is set on an outside turn of the creek with a heavy trail leading to the adjoining property. Lots of deer over there it is a much bigger patch of woods. I only hunt bottle necks and funnels. This buck looks to be a 3.5 year old if you can believe that. I have had much bigger bodied deer. With all the surronding corn and bean fields the racks do well.
