Wow.. sure is a poor design, along with poor performance. It's easy to see it's weak areas. You'd think that that broadhead still a concrete wall or something.

A broadhead is gonna get beat up by a shoulder no matter what........and the best solution is just don't hit them there.........this however is REALLY bad performance no matter what happened IMO.

This 125 grain Muzzy killed two deer.
The first a small buck at about 30 yds. Took out one rib on the near side, before exitingind just nicking thelast rib on far side. The deer went about 60yds.
Upon inspection one blade was slightly dull, the other three appeared as sharp as new.
I cleaned it off and nocked it again.
Second deer ,a doe, was standing broadside at 39yds. She wheeled at the shot and the arrow struck the front of the right shoulder blade breaking through it, breaking through the ribs, passing through lungs, liver (and yes smelly parts) exiting the abdomen and entering the left thigh. Deer traveled about 20 yds.
You might tell him to consider a Muzzy. I know lots of people here swear by them, add me to the list.

IMO that crimson croc head, and all other heads like it don't even look like they would work. Cut on contact is the catch phrase these days but many of the implementations are just terrible. Even respected manufacturers are getting caught up in this. The rocket steelhead XP looks pretty suspect to me.I will stick with the chisel pointsfor now.

Thanks for sharing...........and I really didn't want this to be a thread about which heads will shatter through a shoulder because IMO you are not supposed to hit them there so don't blame the head for a bad shot. However, things happen and even good shots can end up hitting the shoulder or spine so I do agree that confidence in your gear if this happens is important. I don't really care for the "bone crushing" reputation of some heads out there because I think it leads to less focus on the shooter because he thinks the head will go through anything. Bottom line is hit the chest and none of this ever comes up. I do understand your point though.
I also shot 4 blade Muzzy's for a month or so......they were terrible IMO poor random flight.......in the end I missed a deer and when I grabbed my arrow from the ground it was mangled.......looked similar to this head only the blades were in better shape. It was bent like a pretzel. I dug up the spot it hit and all it went through was a rotted root about the size of your little finger. That was the end of Muzzy for me. I know tons of people love them and have no issues with them but that is just my experience. In all fairness, Muzzy sent me 6 free 3 blade heads as an apology and they flew much better........still never used them though.

Looks like it broke exactly where the weak spots appear to be.
Damn shame.

This just goes to prove that the products that look cool, prolly aren't the best choice.
