I did as everyone suggested and shot frome my stand last night. WOW I impressed myself. It was getting dark so I picked a leaf about 10 yards from my stand. (I am 25 ft up) the shot was standing but I missed my target ( 2 inch leaf) by about an inch!!

As Istood there tonight and it was awsome by the way, I though about everything I was supposed to do when the deer came by, and I had decided to take any buck that came by. I stood there fo 2 1/2 hours. My back was hurtin so I decided to sit for a sec. I no more than got my ass on the seat when I looked over and there he was. A scrapper 8 point! I had enough time to put my release on the string. I looked over as I started to slowly stand up and he stopped and looked right at me. ( he had heard of me)As he stood in the EXACT!!!! spot I shot my arrow 24 hrs ago. I had also made a mok scrape that he walked over and didnt even think twice about. Yes I did put scent down. He looked at me again, smiled and walked just out of range. Scents and grunting doesnt work here right now. What a night!!! I love this sport.

after my husband read this and laughed his ass off. I guess I was only 15 ft up or so.. Im not good at all that height stuff!

ain't that the way it always goes, i hunted this morning opening day from daylight till about 10am it is just still to hot here, go in the house, sweatin like crazy, wife is askin, didju see anything? nope. she said bear, 1 of our dogs was down back raisin cain, look out the back window and there are 3 deer in my winter pea patch, i think here they are movin middle of the day and late, thats when i'm seein em around the fields anyhow, sounds like it was a exciteing hunt, like i mentioned before, it'll happen soon
