First of the year!
Got in stand this morningabout 5:30 on gamelands in Columbia County. Uneventful til about 8:15, while i'm trying to blowsmoke rings with my breathi happened to turn around and see movement 50 yards behind me. Itturned out being a horse of a deer, i'm almost positive i saw some white above its head but nothing massive. It didnt stick aroundlong enough for me to get agood look.I was kinda mad that I let that one get by me but i was also happy that I even saw a deer.So I decidedto face the bedding area for a while because thats where the last one came from. After 5 minutes i turned back around and saw a deer on a logging roadprobably 40 yards away. Once again i got pissed cause i thought they walked behind me on the logging road without making any noise butit soon turned toward me followed by another large doe. I had already ranged three openings on the logging road and when she stepped intomy second hole (23 yards away) i stopped her and cut loose.Since i was shootingperpendicular to my stand and underneath a branch i was bent kind of awkward and when i shot my string hitmy sleeve. But i watched my Lumenok dissapeared into her about midship. She ran about40 yards and did a flip then turned back towards me and fell after another 20 yards. Turned out i hit the liver, she was bleeding like a stuck pig. I was amazed at how fast myMagnus Stingers zipped through her and thenabout 7" ofit was stuck in the ground.I weigh about 190lbs so you can tell she was prettybig.

Thats funny. I was trying to blow smoke rings too. I heard movement behind me and grunted and then 3 does come trotting in. I couldnt get a clear shot so I let them go. Also heard a turkey gobbling which is pretty cool especially in the fall. Congrats on the slick.
