CG, "The next animal was a coyote called in to about 20 yards and was shot in the neck with a Snyper tipped arrow. The tip of the Snyper was bent fully 90 degrees and penetrated about halfway throught he neck of the coyote. Coyote was recovered because the near side Jugular was severed."
"Just to clarify something on the neck shot that bent the Snyper. Most of the bending was at the ferrule and a little curl to the blade."
I'm not trying to flame. Sorry if you thought so. But, does this sound like the same broadhead to you? I merely pointed out how I thought the bent ferrel could have resulted. You're feeling defensive, so I'll just stop at this. I'd be surprised to see a coyote stop an arrow fast enough to bend the broadhead. But stranger things have happened.
BTW, i have shot Snypers, but will be using Muzzys & Magnus Stingers.

Phil.

I had to post before going onto the 2nd. page.

It was hard for me to believe that there were some that o.k'd the head shot because it was a coyote!.

You are some sick *#@%'s , why is it that some of you out there make me soft towards P.E.T.A.?.

A real sportsman cares about the animal he hunts and does it humanly, regardless of his views on that game animal itself.

People (used with reservation)like you are the reason I quit two sportsmen clubs.

You'r blood thirsty, inhumane and should be shut out by those around you who have morals!!.

As far as the heads go,I have said before that there are only a few that I would use and I am sure it could happen to the lesser products out there.

What a destructive, controversial and vulgar post you have there.

You need to get off your superior soap box and I take offense to being called sick ????'s directed towards me or those like me or not. I highly doubt that if a coyote came into your stand at 15 yards facing you, you'd wait til it turned broadside for a shot....keep telling yourself your better than everyone else here but I guarantee I'd take that coyote out in seconds, quick, clean kill through the head, the length of it's body because I do care about the animals I hunt, especially deer and the laws of tooth and claw are far more evil than my swift arrow through the mind of a coyote. Coyotes are commonly hunted with shotguns, do you think an arrow through the head or neck kills any less efficiently than shotguns. And trapping isn't far more suffering than a lethal shot with a bow? Comon, now, they'll chew off their own paw to escape but we are evil bloodthirsty, how'd you put it? AND I support trappers.

Well I apologize that my subhumanness isn't standing on the pedistal you've put yourself on.

I guess all the work I do with the NWTF, the JAKES program, the teaching and educating I do in the archery industry, the educating I've done with non hunters to gain their support, my memberships in wildlife and hunting organizations are all for not because you, my friend put all I've done to shame. I might as well find a corner and sit the rest of my life out.

Hey guys, don't let Krisken get to you. He(she) is probably just a PETA supporter who wants to get our rights taken away, and given to the animals. Either that, or he is absolutely terrible at the art of persuasion.

Would you guys grow up and stop pickin' on Kirskin or Kristen. Some have a stronger femenine side and we should have some sensitivity to that. And by the way 4sken, I do believe in a quick and clean kill on any animal I shoot and I think you are not a hunter but a PETA lurker who couldn't stand the thread another minute. Still nice to have you in for the discussion.

As good as the snyper is, I am convinced the weak link is the tip. I too have bent a tip over. I should qualify that however. It was the second time the head had gone through a deer. The second time it obviously hit bone.

No one should blindly follow any product. That will eventually get you in trouble everytime. Friendly ribbing is acceptable but blind devotion is a receipe for failure.

Krisken, those are two of the most pathetic posts I have ever seen on this board. If you actually did get quit two sportsmans clubs, I doubt it was for the reason you claim. I would guess it was because no one liked listening to you run your mouth with garbage like that.

Well CG, I bet you did`nt think this post would be this much fun!
Maybe I took your post differently than most, but I appreciate the info on the snypers. I have used fixed blades exclusively for many years, but after reading about the newer mech. heads on this board decided to try the snypers this year for whitetails. Even after reading about your experiences, I will still try them. I thought you were being fair when you gave your results, I did not think you were bashing mech. heads.
I don`t plan on shooting into the shoulder of a big bodied buck with a snyper, and after the tests I put these heads through, I am confident they will perform well on a deer.
BTW, when I am in your state for elk next year, I will shoot fixed blades, just to be safe. I will be in the Medicine Bow area.
And, if I have a good shot at a coyotes head......I WILL start the launch sequence!

Oh Ya, I don`t know about PETA, but I know krisken`s spelling is invoking the rage of my dear old english teacher!
