Calling all Game camera users!!
Have you ever screwed up a good spot by using a game cam there. I found some good buck sign. There's a 8-10 diameter tree with some pretty good groves in it and some fresh good size hoof scraping prints by it. This area get used allot during the pre rut.
I'm a little leery of putting the camera there for fear of pushing him else where!!
I have a Moultrie digital camera so it doesn't make any noise!!
Thoughts?
Experiences?

No, I do not believe so. I have pictures of some bucks on the same cam...weeks apart. While at other times I might only get one picture of a buck. I don't believe it affects their behavior to any large extent.

B H D ; how you like that moultrie camera? I had one and set it up in my yard to see how it worked and the range.I would walk past it; sorta like a deer on a trail and I would see the light go on(when it took a pic.) and I did this all afternoon and the only pic. with me in it was on I stopped right in front of the camera. the rest was just a pic. of my decoy in the background,I even walked toe to toe like a deer feeding and still no luck.on time it got my back, just part of my shirt.I came at it at an angle from right from left and from broadside. out of 36 takes on 3 trys, the two of me was all it had.[:@][:@][:@][:@][:@].
I took it back and got my money back. wal-mart, no problem.I guess it is a little slow on the trigger action.
how bout yours?

I have yet to get a picture without a deer in it. Besides the wind blowing around crap in front of it! I always set it at a angle to the trail. Mine seems to work really well.

thanks Bird.I have an old style moultrie 35mm,and it works great. just thatr with that many takes I should have gotten a few of my ugly mug.[8D][8D].
the guy said it may have just been a bad one. they got in 100 at our wally world and in less than a week they were all gone.they get some more , I may try another one.
thanks, hope you get that big one.
BTY ; alwasy try to not have any little brush that will sway in the wind,or face it into the riseing or setting sun, that will set it off also.again
good luck.

personally I yank mine out of my hunting area 2 weeks prior to the opener.

gotten pics of a big 9 point all summer. However I never hunt a stand
with my camera there because I don't want it to go offwith the deer that
close. They may not be scared but one little jump could cause a
bowhunter to lose his chance.
