RE: Scouting
Id grab my climber and the first fresh sign I seen Id hunt it. Usually thats when you encounter big daddy. And thats whats nice about climbers, packable and easy to setup. Id scout and hunt at the same time, by the end of the season youll have a good idea on the lay of the land etc. and try to locate food sources and start there maybe youll see one on the other end or vice versa. Good luck

RE: Scouting
what a problem to have!If you can scout just prior or during a reasonable rain there are scent advantages to that.If you can set up an observation stand to be able to view the most remote area's where the deer may be entering open area's in the late afternoon or early evening that's what I would do.Once I saw where a buck I was interested in was coming out I would follow runways back looking for concentrations of rubs and scrapes and place a stand where the wind would favor me in that area.I would erect the stand mid day and I wouldn't go to tight to the bedding area initially.I would also be working hard to figure out the patterns of the resident doe's and be thinking about area's down wind of there normal patterns.
Good luck to you!
