Golden Eagle?
I went to pick up some arrows today and came across a new but three year old bow today. It is priced right at $170 the guy said he just needs to move it since it is getting old. My ? is is golden Eagle going out of bussiness or not it seems I have heard this before on here. Can I get parts a couple of years from now? I am sorry I dont remember the model but i guess I was just wondering what you think about Golden Eagle bows.I guess for the money It will cost I would not be out much if it only lasted a few years . It really couldnt hurt to replace my 13year old PSE could it? Thanks for any input cheese-head

RE: Golden Eagle?
Cheese-head,
The first bow I've ever owned was a Golden Eagle. I loved the bow so much that when I got back into bowhunting this year I was thinking of getting one of there bows. The problem was that none of the bow shops in my area would carry them, because they did file chapter 11. I haven't heard anything bad about them , there product, or there customer service. I haven't purchased one of there bows yet because I want to shoot it first and feel how it is in my hand.
If you like it and think that it will fit you good, then I would buy it.

Golden eagle is made by the North American Archery Group and will be around for years to come. They file for creditor protection shortly after buying several bow companies. Bear, Golden eagle, Jennings, Sattelite, and one other.
Evidently they are on the rebound and you can find them on the internet( www.satellitearchery.com ) and buy direct from them or you can go to Gainesville Fl. and tour the factory.
I've heard from several people who have been there and had work done on their bows for free. Sights added, strings replaced, etc.

RE: Golden Eagle?
I say go for it. I have an old Golden Eagle Carbine Extreme that I shot for 6 years and I bought it used. It has the original string and cable on it. Now I know people don't recomend that, but the older bows are that hard on strings and cables as the newer single cam bows. It shot good the day I hung it up when I bought my Mathews. I got a new bow just cause I felt the need to make the wife mad!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> Chances are that you will have no problems whatsoever anyway.
