What's your cheapo money saving tip?

RE: What's your cheapo money saving tip?
I always look for those plants (milkweed I think?) that produce the pods of the stringy cotton like material in them. Once they dry out , they are awesome for testing the wind direction. plus they are FREE. I just grab as many pods as I can, and then as Ineed to, I break one open and pull out some of the material.
(Can anyone tell me what the plant actually is?)

No doubt, that is not a money saving tip. That is stealing. We all pay higher prices due to @#&%#%$s like that. I will pray for him and hope his hunting ethics are better than his morals.

WHOOOOW it up there txrookie! I don't believe that he intended to steal the items mentioned. He stated he didn't realize that he wasn't charged until hechecked his receipt andleft the store. It's not the customers fault because the clerk was lazy not to check the cart for more items. We all pay more during hunting and holidayseason. Everyone makes $$$$$$$. It used to be a way of life now it's a buisness.

Dampland,
From the sounds of it, your right, it's Common Milkweed. Probably find all you want in the ditches along the roads. If you break the stems, it has some white milky ooze, hence the name Milkweed. And, now I know how all those darn Milkweed plants got in my huntin' spot.
My money saving tips, 1. build your own stands, and 2. use crushed up walnuts/husks mixed with hot water to stain you faded camo clothes (works like a charm and good cover scent)....get em' before they brown too much and let em' soak a day or two.

Take a strap on treestep and wrap some electrical tape around it to pad it somewhat. Instant bow, pack or binocular holder for up in the treestand.
