Would You Pass This Buck Up???????
Okay guys, here is a picture that I got last night of a buck that is standing roughly 25 yards from where I am setting up my ground-blind this year. This buck is staying in a 1/4-1/2 acre patch of thick brush in the corner of a grown up golden rod field. This bucks bedding area is roughly 15 yards off the edge of a road and this area recieves no hunting pressure at all. I can only hunt this area using a ground blind as there are on 3 trees (huge white oaks) that a stand could go in and the trail that leads past them is about 3 feet from the base of these trees. Right now, there are 6 different scrapes and 5 fresh rubs within a 20 yard circle of where this camera is.
Question is, would you shoot this buck or pass him up????
Okay, have you made up your mind? Here is the thing, I know that this buck is just 2-1/2 years old, would you still shoot him or pass him up?

O yeah, here is a picture of him earlier this year in velvet......
He is now staying about a 1/2 mile from where this picture was taken. He is very easy to identify with his torn ear.

With a bow...Get out the skinning knife!!!
When the antlers go past the ears....I do....If not...I shoot the does for meat....Last year I killed 6 does....passed on 5 different "nice" bucks...
Not "that" nice though...LOL
But...If you know that you are the only one hunting the area...and you don't think he will get in the way of a car (over 12,000 were killed on the roads by cars in NC last year)...Its your choice...Good Luck
