Rain gear

RE: Rain gear
I select rain gear like I select all my hunting clothing. I shop and try to purchase the best for the money. I consider my hunting clothing to be as important as the bow or firearm I'm using for the hunt. If you are comfortable in your stand or blind you spend more time hunting and increase your possibilities of harvesting your game. All my hunting clothing, from light weight archery to my cold weather gear is the best I can buy. All have a membrane like Gore-Tex to wick moisture and keep me warm. I learned this lesson many years ago while hunting waterfowl on the Delaware shore. When you're comfortable, the hunt is enjoyable, even if the game doesn't cooperate. Much of today's less expansive rain gear traps your body heat and perspiration inside and often you'll be as wet inside as outside. Research the gear you want to purchase than save and purchase your outfit out of season when it's on sale. You'll be glad you spend the extra money for performance products.

RE: Rain gear
I bought one of those tree umbrellas for $19 many years ago. I take excellent care of the thing and it's always in my truck should I need it. It's gotten me thru many bow hunts in the fall where it was either misting or raining and numerous shotgun hunts in Nove-February...same with sleet. Best investment outside my weapon and warm clothing!
