yes camp out there LOL.I would let them go into it.Maybe if you wanted to keep them out then you could run a 6 ft fence around it with a electric fence line but set it out away from the fence about 2 to 3 ft and run 2 lines of it.This will detter them from jumping it having the line out that far.They will have to jump quite a wys to get to the other side.

Liquefy and mix the following:
1 dozen egg whites
1 gallon water
2 tablespoons dishwashing liquid
Strain any "chunks" out then apply around the perimeter of the plot with a garden sprayer . As the egg whites break down they release hydrogen sulfide which is repugnant to deer . Reapply after rain or at least weekly until the plot is established . The whites will produce enough HS to repel deer without being readily detectable by people , but if a stronger repellent is desired , and odor isn't a factor , just use whole eggs . For a bit of "bite" you can also add strong pepper juice such as habanero or jalapeno to the mix .
