I only hunt with a bow as well gave up gun hunting about 15 years ago.
Found that back in Australia it was more challenging to spot and stalk with a bow.

krisken, the only time I pick up a gun is for ducks or turkey. I haven't got slick enough for turkey with a bow yet. From what I have seen and heard, the guns push the deer more to me than away. Chris

I dont bow hunt during the first week of gun season because i think it is to dangerous. State law says if we bow hunt that week we need to wear 400 sq inches of orange,so its hard to bow hunt.

I like my bow....Last year I hunted with my bow almost the whole season. I gave a 10 year old son that I'm spending time with in the stand, and then we use a gun....I also have a standing tradition to gun hunt with a friend on opening gun day....I like the guns, but like the bow better.....

I used to hunt gun season with a bow, but somebody asked what I would do if a monster buck walked past out of bow range. I used a gun the next time out. I would be sick if that happened. I haven't shot a deer with a gun though. Waiting for a big one. I would rather use my tags for bowhunting.

Gun hunting here only lasts a week and I feel like Shadowace, I don't think I could forgive myself if a record buck passed wihin 80 yards of me and I couldn't take him because my gun was at home. I figure bow season is three months long so I can spare a week to gun hunt. Being in Iowa and limited to slug guns I'm going to be within a hundred yard of anything I shoot at and most deer I shoot with my gun are within 50 yard or so. Besides, I kinda like gun hunting too.

I think any bowhunter who frowns upon gun hunting needs to get their priorities straight. I have no problem with anybody who chooses to bowhunt exclusively, but they should not condescend on those who don't. We are all hunters and sportsman and must stand united against the antis.

I can honestly say that if I have a monster buck walk in I'm going to feel just as much of a rush pulling that trigger at 60 yards as i would trigerring my release at 30. In either case my heart will be beating about a thousand beats per minute and I'll have to remind myself to breathe! LOL!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

i hunt with my bow only in the season here in southern ny u can hunt with a bow in shotgun season if u want .. but i like both seasons all the deer are running any way ....

WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HUNT WITH A BOW DURING THE TWO WEEK GUN SEASON HERE IN MICHIGAN. WE ARE HOWEVER ALLOWED TO BOW HUNT DURING MUZZLELOADER SEASON, IF YOU WEAR BLAZE ORANGE. LAST YEAR I DID NOT GUN HUNT AND MY FRIEND GOT THE BUCK THAT I HAD BEEN WORKING. THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN.
