RE: bow during gun season
I also bow hunt during the gun season,Here in florida, you are allowed to hunt with a handgun during gun season. So to hedge my bets in case that big boy strolls by at 40 yrds. or more I also carry an old LLama 44 mag (close copy of a Smith mod.29)with a weaver 2.5 scope and 180gr. winchester silver tips, how ever It's not likly a B&C or P&Y buck will happen by in my neck of the woods LOL! But It's nice to have it just in case.

Kind of like Cabelas4Toys for me too. Our bow season in Arkansas is 5 months: oct 1-feb 28 and I don't muzzleload yet, so I( do take time off from the bow to hunt the 3 weeks of rifle season.
The best of luck in all your hunting endeavors!!!
God Bless,
Dave

RE: bow during gun season
Well more and more I hunt less with the rifle. I think last year I hunted twice with the rifle. Id rather bow hunt.Ive killed more deer with my bow. And to tell the truth Ive killed all my deer with the rifle within bow range. Around here theres so many people in the woods during rifle season its unreal. If its like that this year I might rest those 2 weeks and go back to it afterwards

RE: bow during gun season
This is going to be a hot topic, I predict 4 pages.
I love my Bow and My guns, My true passion is bow hunting, when gun hunting I use a hand gun to keep things challenging,(Ohio law allows any hand gun that uses cartages that have a case length of at least 1 inch.) My choise is the 454 casull. The most versitile pistol cartige for hunting made IMHO.
I hunted turkey with shotgun this season also. Here in Ohio our gun season is only 1 week and it's a crowded week also. Ohio is the 3rd most developed state in the us and I'd bet the highest concentration of hunters per square mile in the nation during gun season. The only reason I'd sit out gun season is due to over crowded woods. Other than that I'd be pistol hunting.
