Default Stealth Cam Eaten!!!

Took a trip to WV this weekend to do some work on our properties. My camera must of flashed a pic of a bear and ticked him off, cause he destroyed it. Never thought about that happening. Can see the teeth marks and claw marks through the casing and everything. Thought the film would reveal some cool pics, but the film was destroyed.

There are a couple of thingsyou coulddo to prevent that. 1) never let the person handling the bait touch the camera. The bears can smell the bait and think there is a treat inside the little box. 2) climb up the tree and hang the camera from a limb aiming down at the bait. 3) cut a jalpenio pepper in half just before you leave and rub it the juice on the outside of the camera.

I have had 2 Stealthcams destroyed by bears within the past 2 months here in Virginia, and last year I had a Moultrie destroyed in WV. I had a post on here "bears everywhere" and I posted some of the pics from the last camera that was destroyed, luckily the film was ok. I finally broke down and went to the metal shop at work and built a steel box to enclose the camera. Iguaranteeno bear is going to get that open!!

No bear problems here in TX but I think I read somewhere they like
the smell and taste of film.
