As a B&C scorer, I'm afraid that placing a 2X4 in your rack to minimize shrinkage would be against the fair chase and honesty affidavit that you sign to enter it in the book, which also applies to P&Y. The shrinkage can be substantial for some and minimal for others. I have a deer that we green scored at 157 that lost three inches over time. It's just part of the club standards for both.

Green gross score 135 6/8 net= 130 0/8
Official gross Score 134 6/8 net= 129 5/8
No 2x4's or freezers involved. Dried for 60 days at room temp!
