im going to college up in bemidji right now and i dont have room for my deer stand, so whenever i have time to go i will have to either hunt fromthe ground or maybe climb a pine tree and sit on the limbs. has anyone ever had much luck doing this, climbing a tree, or would you recommend that i just build a ground blind? opener is 3 weeks away so i have plenty of time to build a blind especiallly since the land im hunting is about 2 minutes away.

If it were me, I would buy a quality ground blind. There are zillions to choose from anymore, and most are quite affordable. Next best thing, and sometimes better, than a teestand.

Buy a good ground blind, or make one. Use dead branches, logs, an existing plant or tree(cut out enough room to sit, manuever, and apply the smackdown).

20 to 30 yards from a dominant food plot trail can pay off big.

Just make you a couple of ambush spots. I ground hunt all the time. you just have to be way more alert and careful.

I hunt from the ground all the time. 3D Leafy Wear suit and just be a lot more conscious of your movement. I shoot deer from the ground every year. A 129 inch buck two years ago.
