Default Do you team up?

For hunters that go on an out of state hunt with other guys, do you hunt alone or team up? I have my own opinion or prefered style if you will, just wondering how you hunt while on a trip with other guys. A little hint on how I feel....at $488 and thats only for the tag, well.

Normally it is solo all the way. That said it is a luxury to have someone in camp to visit with at night. This year only two of us drew in the location we will be at. My buddy almost will not hunt alone so for the most part we will be together at all parts of the day. Not necessarily my preferred method but not really a negative either. It is much better than not going elk hunting at all. I leave next week!!! Can't wait.....

Well cougar, I am not sure I understand when you say team up.

If you mean go as a group....then yes.

If you mean help fill somebody elses tags...well it depends on the situation. But like you said, at 500 bucks for a tag, you would like to take some meat home.

I normally go out of state with a partner. If that's what you're asking. We don't hunt to gether but we typically ride back and forth to our hunting areas and then converse on the radio (where legal) every couple of hours to discuss how the deer movement is in the area.

I have only been out of state once and in that case I went with 3 other guys and we did coordinate with one another during the hunt.

Sorry I didn't provide better information. What I meant by teaming up was 2 guys hiking, setting up, calling together. One of us as the shooter or maybe both ready to shoot. Personally I prefer going it alone during the actual part of the hunt. We will be at camp together and can share information at the end of each day........unless I or we decide to stay for the night right where we are at that time.
