jfig I have seen this done with a turkey fan before and I would guess the crawl could work on deer if the wind is right, but I am an old man and all that crawling would kill me.

Very intriguing! Goes against many of the principals we've been taught but I can see how it might work. I might just have to try that sometime!

I think I will try this but I hope I don't get shot by some other hunter thinking I am a deer.<img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle>

I have a bean field behind my house that I see deer in during the summer. Early Aug. I tried this, I got down wind and started &quot;feeding&quot; towards them at 60 degree angles. It was 4 or 5 does and 3 bucks. They started snorting and making noise and I just kept working towards them. They ran to the b ack edge of the field and stared at me, then the does started coming towards me, snorting and carrying on. I just kept doing my thing like I was ignoring them. They got to within 60 yds of me and I decided to end it there and try it in the beginning of the season so I fed off the field and in to the woods and got out of there. Turns out with the drought the deer aren't even coming to the field any more so I can't try it now but from my experiance it looked like it might actually work!!!!!!

sjh: No Joke, but you are free to laugh all you want, if you have time email [email protected] and ask him if this works! I know it works and I have done it. I know it defies all prior knowledge of deer hunting.
The secret to this method is to pose as a non-predator and that's it.

I have been experimenting with jfig's system here in Alberta, and it does work. To read my full story, goto the forum at http://www.bowzone.ca/cgi-bin/ubb/ul...c&f=6&t=000042

Not exactly. There are many historical references to Indian hunters draping animal skins over themselves and crawling up on animals in plain sight. Who knows how many hundreds, or thousands, of years this technique has been around. Might be getting rediscovered, but it's certainly not a new idea.

Even if you don't believe it, if the deer won't come into range and it's the last hour of the last day of the season, what have you got to lose by trying it? If it doesn't work, then no shot is no shot, whether you're working for it or waiting for it, sitting on your butt in the stand. If it does work though...

AurtherP:
The &quot;New&quot; part in this method is a discovery of a deers body language and I would guess this method is a little different than how hunting was done years ago. Also the difference is how you react when you see deer and by combining the two really makes it a complete new method of 21st centry deer hunting.
This deffinately is not for everyone.

Thanks cdnarcher
