if that buck was 3 1/2, i'd say cull him, if i was on private land. Bad genetic in the herd that 3X3 rack is. This a perfectly good reason why AR's don't work. This buck could potentially be passing on those crappy genes because everyone is whacking the 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 year old 8 points. AR's are just a temporary solution that will fail in the long term. If people would just show restraint, they'd have some bigger bucks.

That buck is the classic example of what a cull buck is. I would shoot him on site. I was sitting in one of my stands overlooking a pond and protein feeder the other day and had 2 different six pointers come in. One I figure is 2 1/2 and the other I feel is 4 1/2. Needless to say both of them are going down asap. Its kinda disappointing to see two 6's out of the same blind on the same day. Luckily that dosent happen very much.
