Holding Position??

Holding Position??
Last year I had a whisker bisquit put on my hoyt. When he was paper tuning it he suggested that I hold my arm lower because I had a high hold and explained thats why I could only fit two pins on my bow. He lowered my peep and helped me with a hold postion. I was so used to holding the other way that I got inconsistint shots. I improved but I was wondering if I put a kisser button on my bow if that will help with a holding point?

RE: Holding Position??
I think what you are calling a "holding point" is typically referred to as an anchor point. Many folks start with a high anchor as the result of initially shooting mostly with fingers. Using a kisser button with your setup will lead to a more consistant anchor as it is forcing your head to the same position each time. I cannot see it hurting.

You hit that on the head. I started using fingers at 14 then swith to a release after a year or so. Achor point was what I ment just couldn't think of the correct term. Thank you very much I am goin to have to consider the kisser button to break my old habbit. After a while would it be possible to take the Kisser off when I get used to a position??

Here is a little tip:
The more anchor points you have, the more consistant you will be. Think of it like a graph. If you only have one point, the line can go any direction. If you have two points you will see the slope of the line, but you may not be able to follow the graph consistantly. If you have twenty dots, you will have a better chance of finding the slope.
Now what does this have to do with bowhunting you may ask. If you only rely on your kisser button, (not saying you do) you won't be as consistant as you would with more anchor points. I anchor by putting my nose on the string, touching the string to the corner of my mouth, and put my knuckle on my ear lobe. It is almost impossible to not have a consistant anchor point by using several anchor points.

I use my nose a little past my string and then I was trying to hold my release using the crack between my thumb and my index finger(held together) along my jaw bone. I just felt that maybe a kisser might help with the postion.

Iam not trying tto tell you not to get a kisser button. It can only help. I was just trying to explain that the kisser button would increase your anchor points, making you more consistant.
