Would you hunt a lesser parcel of land?

Absolutely, if I knew there was deer that I wanted to kill on it. If I were only looking to kill a pope and young buck though and nothing else, and I felt that there were more on the pressured ground I would still hunt there. Sometimes pressure from other people make the deeer predictable in their patterns in avoiding other hunters. You just need to make sure they don't begin to pattern you.

I hunt mostly public ground and I do that so I can hunt where I want to hunt, when I want to hunt.
I don't have to ask anybody or accomodate anybody or worry about who marrys who or who might die by next year.
I don't kiss any body's a$$ to hunt and don't ask anybody to kiss mine.
I call a jerk a jerk when I see them act like a jerk and I don't pretend I didn't see just to save their feelings.

I hunt "lesser" parcels all the time , in fact I specialize in it in a way . After a prowl on Terraserver to identify a public parcel that has ready access on the topo map I switch to the aerial photo and start identifying the funnels it has , the probable escape routes , and any other routes that the deer might take if somebody else does show up . Since going more than 500 yards from the truck is what many consider the same as hunting a lesser parcel I purposely go farther in and wait for the "drivers" to arrive . Getting access to private land has never been a problem for me , but I enjoy finding a honeyhole right under everybody else's nose that gets little or no pressure because the rest think it's crowded simply because it's public ground .
