I stalk/stillhunt most of my time in the woods.I walk extremely slow and quiet--i've had a couple times where i'll be walking up on a deer that's going the same direction and i slowly gain enough ground on 'em to get within shooting range(25 yards)after following the deer for a few hours! That is the most fun i have had hunting with a bow and for me it is very hard to stay focussed that long and not make any quick movements or noises loud enough to spook them--using big trees between me and the deer is how to gain ground in the woods.

I like to try and get as close as possible to a doe while stalking just to practice in case I have to sneak up on a buck. Closest so far has been 25 yards because I usually step on a twig. [&:]
