Four Fletch??? 5 Shot???
Anyone out there shooting four fletch arrows? I fletched up a couple arrows with four 3" feathers and I am impressed with the results. I fletched them at a full right helical. I got the idea from reading one of 5 Shots threads on broadhead flight and tuning. Does anyone know how much more arrow guidance four 3 inch feathers gives you over three 4" feathers?

4 , 3" feathers should give the same guidence as 3 , 4" inch feathers . Ive use 4 , 4" before and they worked well , had the blitzenberger set on 75x105 with a 4 degree offset .

I would think that inches of fletching isn't the point. More feathers would give more steer and stability. The wind is divided up among 4 feathers, and not 3. As a side note, my pro shop guy did an arrow up with 5 flu-flu feathers, and that thing didn't go past like 50 yards. Pretty neat.

If the 3" & 4" feathers are the same height (I have never measured them to know) then I think the four 3" feathers might actually have a slight advantage as the angle from the quill to the crest of the feather would be more steep resulting in slightly more surface area.
Does any one have a digital scale handy that could weigh three 4" feathers and then four 3" feathers?
