Rangefinder. It adds so much confidence. I would feel lost without mine. Leica 800.

Definently, I don't leave my house without it when hunting, it adds more confidence, but I range all the area I will shoot to before hand!

Range finder. I have a Nikon 400 and love it. They can be had now for ~$200. I don't know what you had budgeted, but you might be able to get both if you go with the Nikon.

I'd get the ground blind first, and then tell my wife I need a range finder also so I will know how far to put the blind from the trail. Seriously, I'd get the range finder first. I bought an optical one from ebay this spring, but it stinks. haven't gotten it to work right yet. I expect next year's toy list will include a good range finder.

Though I have both, IMO - the rangefinder I'd place in the
"things that are necessary category" and the DB blind
I'd put in the "things I'd really like to have category".
....get the rangefinder[:-].

I have both! So lets ask it this way...........What would I give up first........I'd give up the Double Bull bind and keep the rangefinder. I really love that thing. I love my Double Bull also but that rangefinder really is useful and gives me alot of confidence once I'm in a stand.

Good Luck!
