well it really is a personal preference---i myself shoot the goldtip and have never had a problem--i shoot the 5575s but a grade above the hunters due to straightness tolerances.if you have a local archery shop they come in dozen pacakages.before buying tell them you want to check them for straigtness by rolling them on a flat surface.you are not going to find a perfect dozen but goldtip will replace the ones that are not--i also heard that thier 22 series is a excellnt shaft selection but they run about 25.00 more--goodluck!

I would only shoot the Gold Tip 3D Pros
I've never shot the 3D pros but i agree about the xt's and hunters. The last several dozen i bought (xt's) had at least two bad ones in the bunch and one dozen had four bad ones in it. When i say bad ones i mean they would be cracked not on the ends but half way up the shaft and i've had several that looked like they had been heated and were warped. I sent them back and although i've been shooting Goldtips for years and Goldtip replaced the bad ones at no charge i'm still out with Goldtip. I started shooting the Super Carbon Magnums made by Nationwide Archery for Parker mid season this past year and have been very pleased with them and from now on that's what i'll be shooting.

I will no longer use the Xt's and forget about the hunters

I shoot beman ics 400's and love them. I have never had a problem with them and get about 300 fps from them. If you go with the bemans just be sure to get the black ones. The camo ones will heat up upon entering a target and the foam will stick to the shaft.
