API Grand Slam Extreme
I have the api grand slam extreme. there are a few things about it i do not like and wonder if anyone else has it and how they solved the following inconveniences.
a. when the seat is attached to the climbing part of the stand it is a real pain to reach down and put on the foot straps or to put a strap around the tree.
b. foot straps are not easy to get at, any of you found a way to modify this?
c. putting a bow holder on the platform is a joke because the climbing portion of the stand is wider then the platform. i normally climb between two trees so this is not a problem. i use a covered cup hook to screw into the tree in front of me and hang my bow on it.

RE: API Grand Slam Extreme
I had a problem with the foot straps at first too. I have found a way that works well for me. On the setup sheet it shows how to use a bowline know to tie the straps to the seat of the climber. I pull on that line to get the straps up and then I slip my feet into them. I don' t bother using the elastic band that goes around the heels. I haven' t needed it yet.
Can' t say that I' ve use a bow rest with the stand. I usually just take the quiver off and lay my bow across the armrests.

RE: API Grand Slam Extreme
I do the same thing that JeramyK does with my GS Super Star. I pull on the rope that attaches the climber and the platform sections and that gives me enough room to get into the straps. Regarding the bungee that goes around the heels, I find if I keep the climber portion very low when setting up, I can reach down and grab the cord without too much trouble. The biggest problem I have doing that is usually the cord gets stuck under the heel opposite of the one I' m trying to secure. I have the same problem with the bow holder. I have the API holder, and couldn' t use it at all with my last bow. it works okay with my Ex VFT but it is so darn low that I have to grab the top portion of my upper limb and there' s just too much movement involved so I only use it rarely when I need both hands.
