.019 or .029 fiber optic pins
Hi, I was wanting to get some help deciding what size of pin would be better for me. I currently have .029 on my older sight but wanted to maybe try the smaller .019 size pins. I will be mainly using it for hunting and hopefully in the near future make it to a 3d shoot. Thank You

If you can use both. Use the larger pins on your closest yardage pins and the smaller ones on the more distant pins. The smaller pins cover less target at the farther distances allowing you to aim better. At 20 yards it probably won' t make any differance one bit for hunting. But at 40 yards it will.

remember a bigger pin is no more steady to hold on target them a small pin. but to the eye it seems to not move at all which fools the brain into thinking your dead on but no more than a small pin . but you will shoot quicker and more accurate with a larger pin.at 20 yards i prefer a .040 and .029 to .019 on my last pin. shoot with the largest pin at 20 yards and than compare it to a smaller pin .019 you will see what i mean it also is a lot easier to see in low light.

I' m not sure what the size of the fiber optic line is that I use, but when I went to buy my sight all I knew was that I wanted a vertical sight. I checked the Trophy Ridge and the Vital Bow Gear' s Trapper. Since turning 40 a few years ago, I noticed my vision wasn' t as good as it used to be and when I compared the two sights I opted for the sight with the larger pin. I don' t seem to have any problem hitting the vital area of my 3D deer target at 50 yards and can see my sights easily. The decision is yours, this is just my two cents.
