31 inch draw
I have been out of bow hunting for about 10 years and looking to get back into it. The problem I have is I have a 31 inch draw. I am struggling to find a bow that goes out that far. Anyone have this problem? I also shot fingers so I was thinking that a loop and release will actually reduce my draw length enough to get me into a nice bow.

I also have a 31" draw, thank the stars you do becasue it just makes your bow that much faster. There are lots of good bows with a 31" draw. I shoot the PSE Dream Season, it goes up to 31.25" and isthe best bow I've ever shot butmost bow companies make bows over 30" draw. Just don't go too long on the brace height as some bow models are just less deflexed than others. I like to stay in the 6.5" -7" brace height range to maintain a nice long powerstroke.

Unless you have been recently measured you may want to go ahead and get that done before you invest in a 31" draw bow.
Years ago, it was normal for a much longer draw length to be used than is used on today's modern compounds. I have a buddy that used to shoot with a 29.5" draw. On today's bows he shoots a 27.0" draw.
While there are those out there who do have an honest to goodness 31" draw, they (and possibly you) are in the vast minority. Get measured before you plunk down the coin for a bow that may be too long for you.

RE: 31 inch draw
I ama 31.5" draw length (just measured....twice) I wentwith a 31" length, a loop and releaseand it isfine. I just purchased a Parker Raptor XP ( 29-31" adjustable) and am pretty impressed with it for the money. If you are looking for a lower cost bow this is a good choice, if you are looking high end Mathews LD and some of the new Hoyt bows are all at least 31".
Good Luck!

Measure you're wingspand and divide by 2.5, will give you a general rule. I have a 6'7" wingspan which puts me at a 31.5" draw but I shoot a little shorter for hunting clothes.

Yes I am aware of this measurement. I have a 78 inch wingspan which puts me right at 31 inches. I think I will go to a proshop today and try out some new bows, I am a long time fan of PSE.

Be advised that a lot of bows do not come from the factory set to specs. A bot that is marked 30" may actually draw 31" or close to it. Measure the draw length of the bow and the draw weight. Check the ATA and brace height. Never assume anything.

I have 31" draw length and for several years now have been using 30" bows with ultra-nok and glove type release. This setup works well for me for the most part but some bows still feel "short". That's why when I discovered my switchback xt fit me perfectly,I refuse to upgrade since it fits me perfectly, and is VERY smooth/easy to shoot-regardless of anything that's since came out that I've tried.
