there are alot of good bows out there in that price range! you can't go wrong with the "lights out"($459 rts package) others are:
Parker buckhunter XP package ($379.99)
PSE Brute package($499.99)
Martin Bengal package($499.99)
Diamond Rock package($499.99)
all these basically come with everything but arrows and release!
You might also want to check out Mission bows and Reflex.

lights out is good A friend just bought the Parker Legend XP and its a very nice first bow in my opinion. Smooth draw and easy to shoot. Its 599 though in the package. 31inch from axle to axle if you like short bows. Its only rated for 288fps though, but in a first bow you want easy draw and easy shooting though

I would look at the Hoyt Avenger, Reflex Growler or Charger, Fred Bear Lights Out to name a few. Oh... and the new Hoyt Powerhawk and Superhawk are awesome bows for a great price.
To be honest, before you throw down any cash go shoot a bunch of different bows.
