Default Stabilizers- All the Same?????

Might be just a small detail and I guess I like details... I have had the same stabilizer for some time now. Got a new bow last year, Bear Truth, and want to replace my stabilizer... The only thing I do is hunt whitetail, out of tree stands most of the time. Any comments or help would be great..

Stabilizers are definitely not all the same. The Octane, Stealth, and Doinker are some top choices.

The higher priced models are usually worth the money spent. Some stabilizers are just a weight and others are just vibration absorbers.

My best advice is go to a shop that has several choices and shoot as many as you can. What I like you might not

I have always used the S-coil. It's cheap and works fine on my PSE Firestorm. But doing like meanv says and going and trying a few out would probably be the best thing to do.

I have the5" Carbon Express for only $20. I do not think it is worth spending that much more on one unless you are in a target league or something? The more expensive ones aren't that much better but it all depends on how particular you are.

I don't know man, it's your "buck", so you decide!

Good luck

It depends on what you want a stabilizer to do for your set up. For purely dampening sound, I think the Limbsaver S-Coil work fine. Same material as in just about all other high efficiency vibration dampening devices on the bow. But for function, there is a lot of difference in stabilizers. What they do to the weight and balance of the bow, how far away from the riser the dampening effect takes place, etc.

I have tried just about every stabilizer on the market and I have settled on the Stealth Archery stabilizer. Not only do they balance out your bow perfectly but the 60/40 weight design makes the 6" version feel like a 16" version. If that wasn't enough the Stealth will kill ANY and ALL shock, noise or vibration that your bow may have!

If you check out Jerry's site at www.stealtharchery.com you'll see the video on there that shows you just how affective they are.

I really have been able to tell much difference in the various ones. Balance is probably the most noticable. A lot of the older deflex riser bows needed a longer stabilizer to balance the bow out but today I have been very happy with the S coil line as far as balance and vibration. They are also very inexpensive. Your best bet is to go to a pro shop and see if they will let you try several different ones.

Heres a pic of my Switchback with an 8 inch Stealth stabilizer on it!
I can guarantee you its a much more effective stabilizer than the light weight cheap stuff thats being sold as a stabilizer.
