Default 82 for hunting?

I can't decide on the 82nd or 101st. Shot both and they felt great. Loved how they almost lock back into the valley. I'd really like theextra speed of the 82nd out here on the plains. I'm trying to convince myself that the 82nd would be a great hunting bow even with a 6 and 1/8 inch brace height. What is so magical about 7 inches anyway. If I didn't know any better I would have thought they had the same BH. The ones I was shooting were 70lbs and 29 inch DL. Any input appreciated.

Both are great bows but i decided on the 101 because of the extra BH. I thought both bow shoot close to the same but i felt the 101 had a smother draw. But if your wanting morespeed and you like the 82 then by all means buy it.

I have both the 82 and the 101. I like the feel of both, but I am a 28" draw length. If I were a 29" draw, I would opt for the 101. With a 29" draw the speed will still be Great and the extra 1" BH will be a bonus. I am sure a lot of longer draw archers will shoot the 82 very well I just don't feel it's necessary for them to give up the extra BH to get more than adequate speed.

Just my .02

Hey, bohunter. I have shot both the 82nd and the 101st and purchased the 82nd. I couldn't tell any difference due to the BH. However, I am only a 27 inch draw length. My original concern with the 82nd was that it might be an arm eater with the lower BH, but the string stop eliminates that completely. I think you will be happy with either bow. And, I agree with MeanV2, if I was a 29 inch or longer, I probably would have bought the 101st. Good hunting.
