making your own peep isn't that easy
Ok, I tried that G5 metapeep 3/16 and all it gave me was a blue blurr around my pinguard.
I shot better with a shurz-a-peep but that was held by three strands of the string and I always had one strand in my line of sight. When the light hit that piece of string I shot poorly.
So I decided to make my own peepsight, how hard could it be, I thought ?
After spending an evening in front of a computerscreen I completed the scetches and it looked perfect. But then spent half the night trying to mill the thing.
I have a perfect peep but I can't seem to get the two grooves on the side at an angle.
So now I'm shooting one with straight grooves and it works !!!
my best scores at 25 yards is 271 and first time shooting the new peep, I hit an 272 !!!
second time 277 !!! and I still need to adjust my WB after installing the new peep.....
I can shoot indoors and outdoors with the same setup, no blurry ring to aim through, no matter what light conditions, I am pleased.........
But I'm still going to try and make one with grooves at 45 degrees.

That's pretty cool that you can do that however, you could simply buy a Tru Peep, it looks exactly like what your making and they come in a variety of sizes.

well, the problem was not the blue color but the edges of the peep, they weren't thick enough, even the tru peep hunter wasn't that good, the hole was too small when the edges were thick enough.
But the problem is fixed, I might even start producing them.....
thx for the replies anyways

While I know you have something that works now, you may want to take a look at a Super Peep
I shoot one in my hunting rig, without any aperature. It gives me a nice sharp sight picutre, and in your case, would give you the well defined (thick) edge you are looking for.
