Default Thinking about a buying a Bowtech General?

I don't have a Bowtech dealer nearby, but my buddy has a Bowtech General and swears by it... Can I please get some feed back on Bowtech bows............ What are your opinions, likes and dislikes.. I was leaning toward Mathews, but he's trying to persuade me toward trying Bowtech...

I have been shooting a General for about a month and really like it. Very quiet and shock free. Definately worth a look. Try shooting a Guardian also, I hunted with one last year and im kicken myself for selling it.JMO Good Luck, you cant go wrong with a Bowtech.

I started shooting a BT tomkat and by chance got to hold the new general at my bowshop.....now I know what I want for a back up bow, my tomkat, because I'm getting the general asap....

BUT in your case, you should try and shoot as many bows from different brands as you can and then decide, Matthews, bowtech, Hoyt, PSE.......they all have very good bows.

I have shot a Guardian for almost a year and have been shooting the new General for several weeks. They are 2 of the best bows I have ever shot. The new General takes noise levels, and hand shock to all time low levels, and the accuracy and forgiveness of the bow is amazing!

I shot a General about two months ago. Arguably the best bow I have ever shot. Certainly the quietest and most shock free. Can't really justify the expense, considering how good my current equipment serves me. But if someone breaks in my house and steals the bows tonight, I'd probably buy a General with the insurance check.

What price should i expect to pay for the General and what would be a good price? I've shot everything but Bowtechs, since we don't have a dealer nearby....... The dealer nearest me said i should wait to see the ne Limbsaver Bow, he said its simply awesome~!

I shoot most every bow I can get my hands on every year and there are some nice bows out there, but if there was a bow out there that I honestly thought was better than the Bowtechs I have been shooting since 03 I'd would be shooting it.
You really owe it to yourself to shoot the Bowtechs. I know I'm glad I tried one in 03. Great Bows!! Great company, and Great customer service
The General is an Awesome shooting bow!! Nice Speed, Very Low Noise, Very Low Handshock, and on top of that the Bow is very Forgiving. It will flat Wad the arrows!

I was a little shocked by the general. I expected it to much quieter and smoother than the guardian. I myself love the fact on the guardian you don't need a press, and it performs better, and I thought the general had a little buzz to it. And I hate those stupid cam stops they brought back. I like the clean look of the guardian cams. I might be biased as I own a commander. But I am not the only one thinking this way I found.

I'm surprised to hear that, big country... I'm a huge fan of the Guardian myself (just placed my order for my third one last week...) because it's plenty quiet of course, I like the string angle better (due to the longer a-to-a) and especially the fact I don't need a press for it.

BUT... I shot a General several times over the weekend at our shooting booth in Indy... and I will readily admit that it had even less hand shock and noise than the Guardian. Not crazy about the a-to-a myself, but it IS quieter and more shock-free... as hard as that would have been to imagine a year ago.

I was talking to our engineer who designed all our bows quite a bit this weekend, and he attributes it mainly to more limb preload (which you can see in a more pronounced arc when the bow is at brace, or rest), which minimizes limb-tip travel.
