I think you lost my point. these are both top end bows you can compare any bowyou want as long as you r shooting the same draw, weight. arrows. release ect. THE SAME.is the key. as i said i shot the general and said it is a great great bow I would by one . if you dont like what bill krenze wrote take it up with him. sometimes the true hurts fact of the matter is iam going today and shot the general again. may come home with it.

I think you lost my point[8D]Compare bows BH, A to A, cam profile etc. The Katera was designed as Hoyt's speed bow and has a slightly shorter BH than the 82. Bill Krenz gave an excellent review of eachBut you can Not compare KE from a short BH speed bow (Katera) to the KE of a smooth shooter high BH bow (General) That is what You were doing. The General has 2.25" more BH than the Katera

Well thank you for your time i agree bk gave good marks on both. Most archers r going 2 look at those articles and compare. I agree if you look at the tech. side of things there is a differance. But that is not what most archers look at. You still can compare when buying a bow and trying choose which one fits best ,draws best feels best shoots best ect. for that buyer. As a cooperate bowtech person and the way you have responed 2 me has now made me think again about buying a bowtech. I didnt fall off the turnip trk last nite. Ill take these emails to my bowtech dealer today so he knows why iam not buying one. sorry I still think the general is a GREAT bow.

Hoyt makes better bows to Compare to the General and Bowtech makes better bows to compare to the Katera. All I was trying to do was to show you the proper way to compare any 2 bows, be they from the same manufacturer or not.
You need to decide what YOU want in a bow and compare the bows that best have those qualities. It really is a simple procedure.
Sorry! but I think you totally misunderstood my point

Arrowum,
With all due respect Dan said nothing at all out of line regarding anything relating to you or or post..........You stated the results of a bow test where 2 completely different bows out of the box aren't anything alike. All Dan did was point out that if the performance output of the General vs the Katera was the deciding factor between the 2 bows there are better bows to compare it to spec wise.
The General will never put out what the Katera will because by design it's impossible.
That's all, and there are people who will buy a particular bow based upon the raw numbers without really undertsanding why they are different in the first place.

Dan doesn't know whether or not you just "Fell off the turnip truck" as you stated and simply pointed that out in case you were unaware of WHY one performs different/higher/lower than the other.

The Katera VS the Airborne bows would be a very fair comparison.

Just as a sidenote, I read Bill Krenz's "comparison" of the two bows in Bowhunt America. Something I think should be mentioned when comparing the performance difference listed for these two bows in his test......

Though the speed difference was fairly large keep in mind the General was tested with the factory shipped smooth mods. The optional speed mods would boost the General's numbers by about 10 fps. That would then put it within about 15 fps or so of the Katera but with a two+ inch larger brace height. That is pretty respectable all things considered.

Just something to think about.

I agree with you totally but the average archer isn't going 2 look into as we do. All i did was 2 post what bk wrote in general . I did shot the general w/ speed cam and the guardian.yest. again, I didnt like the generals drawand would push an archer more 2 the guardian. I'am not a speed freak I like the less shot shock of the guardian. I know Iam not comparing apples to apples. I am stating the simple things that the average or new archer is looking for. Iam not looking for a pissing match. Iam surprized as my bowtech dealer was when i showed hin the e-mails that the bowtech corp. staff would not be happy that a 20 plus yr hoyt man likes and promotes bowtech. And couldn't realize what i was trying say, remember i was only answering a simple post.as a side note the person i took with me was a 15yr PSE shooter who was looking for a new bow,i pushed him 2 the guardian. He went home with it. Next time when i post something Ill cover all the tech. sides. or apples to apples LOLAs for me i don't know if ill buya bowtech after dealing with the corp. staff. they seem alittlestressed. I still love the bows great shooting off to the range L8R.

Your posts are absolutely ridiculous, talk about hyper-sensitive, just admit it, you are wrong and instead of crying to the Bowtech dealer and showing this post, man-up and learn from your mistakes. You are only cuttting off your nose to spite your face. These guys may not be able to say what they feel because of their affiliation, butI can, pick on someone who can fight back. Oh wait maybe you will report me to the forum leader for not talking to you like a 2 year old baby, waahhhhhhhhhh

The comparisons you make make no sense. Its like comparing a 10 guage semi auto shotgun to a .20 guage over/under. Sure they will both kill a goose but one is designed for it specifically. Comparing a low brace speed bow to a short axeled high brace bow merely points out some lack of knowledge regarding equipment design and its intented uses. Why do you think each bow company makes several different models? To satisfy a specific style/need in hunting or shooting. You could in theory play a round of golf with only a 7 iron but there are better tools. As for Bill Krenz and his bow tests, I find they are a joke and waste of ink that are only influenced by advertising dollars and have very little useful information. As for the corp staff who contribute here I have never heard them bash any brand and in fact have read some surprisingly quite candid reviews good or bad of their own products.
