The MeanV string suppressor

RE: The MeanV string suppressor
Most people seem to start with it just touching the string... but you will need to fine-tune it to see where it gives you the best results. Also, it would be advisable to serve your string where it makes contact with the suppressor.

Like many on this board, I have played with string suppressors a fair amount. They seem to work best when the rubber is in contact with the string, but not moving it any noticable amount.

I personally adjust mine to just touch the string. All the guys I talk to end up with theirs just touching the string to a credit card thickness away. I would not push on the string at all. I also serve my string where it contacts the stopper, and suggest you do the same. I think it is just cheap insurance. Here is a pic of one in HD Green

RE: The MeanV string suppressor
Look at the area of the string where the string suppressor contacts it - a simple section of serving right there helps keep the string from fraying.
The photo MeanV2 posted on 12/09 shows an unserved string at the suppressor contact point. The one posted on 12/11 is served.

RE: The MeanV string suppressor
I have a MeanV2 suppressor on my bow. Only a string loop and a G5 Meta peep on the string. I shoot bare armed in warm weather and layered in the cold and haven't had a slap yet. I'm shooting 310 fps at 65# with a 354 gr arrow at 28 3/4" dl. Oh, I haven't served my string and have no adverse effects so far.
