Summit really has a great following and a great product. I've hunted from theirclimbing stands quite a few times and feel their stuff is top notch. With that said, when it came time for me to select a climber, I wanted a stand with the movable lap bar like the Razor X5 or Ameristep Non Typical Lite. These were the two stands I compared. Both were Lazy Boy comfortable, both about the same in weight, both quiet as can be. The Ameristep was much less $$$ though, and has the cinch straps from the front of the top section that go down to the bottom section so that top section will never come loose and crash down into the bottom section right at game time..........that cinch strap makes the top section solid as a rock. I bought the Ameristep and don't regret it at all. You can't go wrong either way though.

Only problem with my stand is that it is so comfortable...........I sleep in this thing all the time. It's a great stand for those all day sits.

i have an old loggy with the metal band and i know its at least14yrs old. i dont use a climbing aid just hug the tree and go so i only carry around 9.5lbs of treestand. i bought a newer one about 2 years ago and my dad got the 2pc one and that rock hard cable around the tree doesnt grip worth anything slips like crazy. i got my wife a gorrila and that is the only stand other then the lone wolf i feel safe when climbing in.
