Default STS and Hot Dot reviews

I installed the STS and the new Summit Hot Dot on my Bow-tech Patriot VFT.

-The STS is fantastic. You can definitely tell the difference. A lot less shock. My groups are tighter. I am so glad I tried this device. I will be putting one on my other two bows.

-The Hot Dot was easy to set up. I love the fact that I can use it as a pendulum or fixed pin sight. It is solid in design and so far so good. I have set up my first set of fixed dots at 20, 30 and 40 yards. Working like a champ. At 40 yards I am grouping three shots in 3". I will get better.
I have done the first setup needed for pendulum mode on the ground. My next step is to climb and see if this thing willallow me to just aim and shoot up to 30-35 yards from 10-30 feet. I love the fact that there is no moving parts to the pendulum.
-On the negative about the Hot-Dot. I had to change the battery after 30 minutes of shooting. I must of had an old battery from the factory. Installed new one and ready to go. Also the screws that hold the battery cover and the dot reflector have wood screw type threads that screw into the plastic frame of the sight. Not smart. This will be a problem for people who over tighten or continuos use will eventually cause the screw to no longertighten. They should have used an insert with machinetype threads.
-I will follow with more results!!!

I'm interested in the hot dot sight. Do you have to use a peep site or can you get away with just a kisser.
I ask this because on my red dot on my gun if you can see the dot it will hit its target, if you are not lined up you can't see the dot.

Sparky,
I've been looking at this sight as well, but I'm a little gunshy when it comes to that much electronic gadgetry on my bow. The battery is one of my areas of concern. Let us know how long that new battery lasts. That would be useful info to add to GregMo's review of the sight.
